My child forgot their PIN. How do I find it?
Log in as the parent, open the Settings tab, and look under Children — tap Show next to your child's name to reveal it.
I forgot my parent PIN. What do I do?
For your family's privacy, parent PINs can't currently be recovered. You'll need to reset the app (delete and reinstall, or use Reset All Data if you can still access Settings) and set up your family again. A safer recovery option is coming with family accounts in a future update.
Where is my family's data stored?
Right on your device — names, PINs, skills, and progress never leave your phone. There are no SkillSprouts servers, no accounts, and no tracking. See our Privacy Policy for the full picture.
Do skills sync between my phone and my child's phone?
Yes! Turn on Family Sync: log in as the parent → Settings → Family Sync → Turn On. You'll get a secret Family Code. On the other phone, open SkillSprouts and tap "Joining your family? Enter your Family Code", then enter the code. Everything is end-to-end encrypted — not even we can read it.
I lost my Family Code. What do I do?
Any device that's already synced can show it: log in as the parent → Settings → Family Sync → Show. Keep it private — anyone with the code can join your family. If it's been shared too widely, tap New Code to rotate it; the old code stops working right away.
How do I delete all my data?
Log in as the parent → Settings → Danger Zone → Reset All Data. This permanently erases your family and all progress from the device. Deleting the app does the same thing.
What's the difference between Free Sprout and Growing Tree?
Free Sprout is free forever and includes 1 parent, 1 child, and up to 10 skills. Growing Tree ($4.99/month or $29.99/year — or a one-time Forever Tree unlock at $49.99) adds daily routines that reset each morning, co-parent & guardian logins, unlimited children and skills, custom categories and badges, and shareable progress reports.

SkillSprouts is built for every family member — including small readers, tired eyes, and anyone who finds motion or small text hard. Here's what the app supports today.
🌙 Dark Interface
The whole app — every screen, card, and control — has a full dark color scheme. By default it follows your device's light/dark setting automatically. Prefer it one way all the time? Log in as the parent → Settings → Appearance and choose Auto, Light, or Dark. The choice is per-device, so your night-owl co-parent can pick their own.
🔎 Larger Text
SkillSprouts follows your iPhone's text-size setting (Settings → Accessibility → Display & Text Size → Larger Text), scaling to 200% and beyond. Everything grows together — labels, buttons, even the skill icons — and cards reflow so nothing gets cut off. Great for early readers and grandparents alike.
🍃 Reduced Motion
With Settings → Accessibility → Motion → Reduce Motion turned on, SkillSprouts calms itself down: no bouncing logo, pulsing buttons, or falling confetti. Celebrations still happen — just gently.
